Welcome to Monroe ARMAD!

For those who think they're too busy or simply don't have time to do something good for a soldier and/or their family, check out the Person of The Week from ABC News World News, Bert Brady! This Vietnam Veteran and a group he's with greets soldiers as they get off the plane coming back from Iraq and Afghanistan. It doesn't take a lot of time, but the soldiers and their families appreciate it! To read more about Bert Brady being the Person of The Week Click Here! You may also view this video from ABC News:

MILITARY - PRIDE – PATRIOTISM – AMATEUR RADIO.

Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day (ARMAD) is an event that gives Amateur Radio Operators a way to provide the people from our communities the opportunity to express "LIVE" messages of support to our Troops, Retired, Veterans, and First Responders over Amateur Radio airwaves. ARMAD falls on the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend and gives us the opportunity to reflect on this important patriotic holiday.

ARMAD is an event associated with National Military Appreciation Month. (www.nmam.org) This event is a public service that is NON - POLITICAL and intended to promote the Amateur Radio Hobby. It is open to all Amateur Radio Operators, and Clubs.

ARMAD is also open to everyone in our communities and we offer you the opportunity to come out to show support to those that serve in the Armed Forces, and to our First Responders.

During ARMAD we invite members from Local Police Departments, Sheriff, State Police, and other First Responders to set up informational displays for those attending, so that they may observe and ask questions. We also invite members from our Military to be present so that they can also communicate with those calling in on the radio, and to greet those attending in person.

Those that serve our Country, and communities deserve our support. By attending an ARMAD event you help to boost the morale of these public servants, and show your support.

We also encourage Military ROTC Groups, and Schools to participate in ARMAD as these events teach our youth communication skills, geography, and a spirit of patriotism.

Get involved! Support your friends, neighbors, and relatives that serve our Country, and protect our freedoms.

Let's Ham It Up For The Troops.
